Browns should trade for 'frustrated' four-time Pro Bowl RB

The Oct. 31 trade deadline is just a day away and the Browns should bolster their backfield with a four-time Pro Bowler who is reportedly frustrated with his role.

That player is Jets RB Dalvin Cook. Cook admitted that he's been frustrated playing a reduced role for New York ever since the reemergence of second-year RB Breece Hall, who tore his ACL in 2022.

"Of course it's frustrating," Cook said, via Rich Cimini o f ESPN. "I'm an honest person, man. I work. I want to play."

The 28-year-old signed a one-year, $7 million contract with the Jets in the offseason with the belief he would play a key role for the offense. That hasn't been the case as he's rushed for just 114 yards and zero touchdowns in seven games.

Cook said he's not necessarily seeking a trade but that he's certainly open to the idea if it's what's "best for everybody."

"It's something I can't control, that my name is being floated around in trade rumors," Cook added. "It might be a good thing."

Cleveland lost star RB Nick Chubb for the season in Week 2. Adding Cook to a running back room that already includes running backs Jerome Ford and Kareem Hunt would give the team some much-needed depth, especially because Ford is dealing with a low-grade high ankle sprain.

The Browns have plenty of cap space with just under $34 million, per Over the Cap, so money isn't a problem. It shouldn't take more than a late-round pick to acquire Cook either.

The Jets may not be willing to deal Cook given Hall's injury history. But if they are, Cleveland should give them a call in what could be a low-risk, high reward move.
