The departure of cornerback A.J. Green from the Cleveland Browns didn’t last long. After being released by the team yesterday, Green was signed back to the teams practice squad today after clearing waivers.

Green was cut after the Browns were awarded cornerback Kahlef Hailassie on waivers from Kansas City. The move came as a bit of a surprise when you consider how talented and deep the cornerback room already was.

When answering a question about Hailassie during his media availability on Wednesday, Head Coach Kevin Stefanski said, “well in our game we thought, he did a nice job so that certainly caught our eye. We did some work on him, over the course of his time there, college-productive player.”

The teams scouting department led by General Manager Andrew Berry must have really been impressed with Hailassie. Green has been a core player on the Browns roster over the last two seasons and has played significant snaps on defense and special teams.

Green serves as the perfect example of how important being on the practice squad can be as he spent the majority of his first season on Cleveland's. The move will officially complete our practice squad that is now full, with the allotted sixteen players.
