Buccaneers’ 2026 Offseason, A Closer Look
Nathan Ray Seebeck-Imagn Images

My intention in writing this was simply to express the need this offseason for the Buccaneers to go all out in free agency and to bring in serious talent through trades.

Unfortunately, That now seems pretty farfetched with 16 players from the team hitting free agency themselves.

The majority of the talent the Buccaneers have that could generate any return are on that list.
the real question here is which of these FAs do the Bucs resign?

The List of FAs is a Who’s Who of the Best Buccaneers Players

Restricted Free Agents & Others

Exclusive Rights FA

Some of these players will be top FA targets in the 2026 offseason.

So, What Does That Leave The Buccaneers With To Trade?

Speaking purely from their value, I can only really name three, And you won’t like hearing these names.

Chris Godwin: Chris has a base Salary cap hit in 2026 of 22 million dollars, a Trade including him could help bring in more draft picks or FA talent. but with an overall cap hit around 33.6 million Jason Ligct would need to have whoever takes him on to eat some of the contract.

Antoine Winfield: Winfield much like Godwin has considerable cap hit’s left on his contract, for 2026 his cap hit is 27.4 million and in 2027 it is 26 million.

Winfield would most likely bring more Value in the Market. but Would Jason even consider a fan favorite?

Vita Vea: With a 2026 cap hit of 22.2 million, Vita may just be the most valuable Trade. His four-year extension runs out after the 2026 season, so whoever trades for him would have to eat the remainder of his salary.

Vita is easily the Buccaneers best defender; he is widely known as one of if not the best DTs in the entire league. Finding a trade partner for Vea would not be too hard (probably even a trade war for him). The Kicker here is It’s Vita VEA!

So, There you go, you have the info, where do the Buccaneers go this offseason? Shake up the league? or just business as usualy?
go ahead and debate.
