Among the most notable moves are the promotion of Rob McCartney to the new Assistant General Manager and Mike Biehl to Vice President of Player Personnel . Both figures will play a key role in strategic decision-making regarding the roster and scouting.

Rob McCartney, Jason Licht’s new right-hand man

After 14 seasons with the team, Rob McCartney has been promoted from Director of Player Personnel to Assistant General Manager, becoming a key contributor to General Manager Jason Licht. McCartney will oversee the day-to-day operations of the college and pro scouting departments and will be involved in key decisions such as the draft and free agency.

Mike Biehl, new vice president of player personnel

With 12 years of experience with the Bucs, Mike Biehl is moving from Director of Player Personnel to Vice President of Player Personnel. In his new role, he will be directly responsible for both college and professional scouting, and will continue to coordinate the evaluations of all draft-eligible players.

Reinforcement in the area of ​​research and performance

Among the new hires is the hiring of Zach Beistline as Director of Football Research, coming from the Jacksonville Jaguars, where he was a database analyst for 12 years. He will work alongside Jacqueline Davidson, Vice President of Football Research, focusing on strategic analysis and game management.

Patrick O’Brien also joins the team as Performance Dietitian, with previous experience in organizations such as the Atlanta Braves, Milwaukee Bucks, and the 49ers. He will collaborate with Jessica Pastuf on sports nutrition and player performance.

  • Tony Hardie has been promoted to Director of College Scouting, having served as assistant and national scout. He will lead the college talent evaluation process.

  • Korey Finnie, who had already been promoted the previous year, will now be a College Scout for the Northeast.
  • Jordan Morrow takes on the role of NFS/Combine Scout, contributing to the work with National Football Scouting.

  • Keairez Coleman has been appointed Physical Therapist, working alongside Maral Javadifar in rehabilitation and performance enhancement.
  • Samantha Richter is now an Associate Athletic Trainer, expanding her role after four seasons with the team.

Technology and logistics at the service of the team

The technological evolution in the NFL is also reflected in the growth of the Buccaneers’ video department:

  • Brett Greene has been named Senior Video Director for his ninth season.
  • Matt Taylor is promoted to Video Director , having worked as an assistant since 2017.

In logistics and equipment:

  • Nick Schmetzer will serve as Equipment Manager, supporting veteran Brad Berlin in all technical operations of the team.

A historic Buccaneer continues to grow

Shelton Quarles, a team legend as a player and Super Bowl XXXVII champion, has been promoted to Senior Director of Football Operations. He has been with the franchise for 28 years and now works closely with the head coach and general manager on day-to-day operations, including roster management and team travel.

Meanwhile, Shane Scannell, in his eleventh season with Tampa Bay, becomes Director of Player Personnel. His new role encompasses overall player evaluation and increased involvement in roster construction.
