Tom Brady deciding to sign with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers already has done wonders for the organization.
The Bucs revealed their new uniforms yesterday, which are much better than the old ones, but Tampa's merchandise sales have spiked because of Brady... and it's not surprising.
According to a report from Fanatics posted by NFL Network's Ian Rapoport:
That, my friends, is the Tom Brady affect.
If Brady decided to stay with the Patriots, then Tampa's merchandise sales probably would be nowhere near where they are right now.
Similarly, if he remained in New England then more Patriots fans probably would've invested in a new Brady jersey.
The six-time Super Bowl champion signing with the Buccaneers is a blessing for the NFL, especially because Tampa was not a team of much interest before Brady went there. With the 42-year-old in Florida, the NFL will now do more in merchandise and ticket sales... so they're really the winners here.
