The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have promoted running back Owen Wright from the practice squad to the active roster, bolstering their backfield amid injury to Bucky Irving and the suspension of Josh Williams. Wright, a second-year player, brings valuable depth and experience, having rushed for 100 yards and a touchdown in the preseason.

“The Tampa Bay Buccaneers today signed running back Owen Wright to the active roster from the practice squad. This brings Tampa Bay’s active roster to capacity at 53 players.”

Owen Wright, 26, joined the Ravens as an undrafted free agent in 2023, signing a three-year, $2.6 million deal straight out of Monmouth. He was waived by the Ravens during preseason and has since bounced around the Buccaneers’ practice squad, recently getting promoted to the active roster.

Owen Wright was waived by the Ravens after preseason and spent time on and off the Buccaneers’ practice squad. He became an unrestricted free agent last offseason, but the Buccaneers signed him in July. This season, he’s been on and off the practice squad, making one appearance for the Bucs with no recorded stats.
