The Tampa Bay Buccaneers continue to divide opinion on what their 2025 outlook could be, but one thing that can't be disputed is the offseason work done by general manager Jason Licht.
First, he managed to re-sign Pro Bowl receiver Chris Godwin, who was close to leaving the franchise, and then he signed edge rusher Haason Reddick to fill one glaring roster hole.
Those two moves alone are enough to give the Buccaneers a good offseason grade, but then we add in their draft haul which includes Emeka Egbuka, and a group of solid defensive prospects that each fill crucial needs for Todd Bowles' unit.
That is a solid offseason, and for Pro Football Focus' Trevor Sikkema, he's given the Buccaneers an A- for their work.
"The Buccaneers lost offensive coordinator Liam Coen to the Jaguars, but that was their only significant departure," Sikkema writes. "They brought back both Lavonte David and Chris Godwin and even made a splash in free agency with Haason Reddick.
"Tampa Bay then drafted five players who could be starters or key rotational players in Emeka Egbuka, Benjamin Morrison, Jacob Parrish, David Walker and Elijah Roberts."
So the offense is loaded with perhaps the best collection of weapons in football.
Baker Mayfield now has Mike Evans, Godwin, Jalen McMillan, Egbuka, and Cade Otton, not to mention the run game with Bucky Irving.
Defensively, if the improvement happens with Reddick and the draft picks hitting the ground running, the Buccaneers will be in business in the NFC.
Some are skeptical of what Bowles' team can do in 2025 after back-to-back division titles under Baker, but the offseason additions make Tampa Bay a very difficult proposition.
And that, rightly so, earns them a hugely positive offseason grade.
