The preseason finale is usually about getting through the final game healthy and preparing for the regular season. For the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, however, the night ended with two defensive injury concerns.

Tampa Bay lost to the Jacksonville Jaguars 19-0 in its final preseason game. The loss came with some unwanted news, as Todd Bowles revealed injuries involving Keionte Scott and Mohamed Kamara.

Via Fox Sports’ Greg Auman,

Bowles told reporters in postgame that rookie Keionte Scott has an ankle injury and Mo Kamara has a knee injury. No word on the severity on either.”

What Keionte Scott’s Injury Means

Scott has already put himself in a strong position heading into his rookie season. His development had made him an important piece of Tampa Bay’s secondary.

The ankle injury now creates some uncertainty surrounding his development and availability. The Buccaneers will have to monitor how the injury affects his preparation and potential playing time.

Scott’s roster spot is secure, but his health could still influence his role. Tampa Bay will hope the injury doesn’t disrupt the progress he made during the preseason.

Mohamed Kamara’s Roster Battle Takes Another Turn

Kamara enters a different situation following his knee injury. Unlike Scott, he was competing for a roster spot heading into the preseason finale.

That makes the timing of the injury particularly significant. Kamara will now have to rely on what he showed during training camp and his previous performances.

The Buccaneers will evaluate his overall body of work as they make their final roster decisions. For Kamara, the hope will be that his performances were strong enough to earn him a place on Tampa Bay’s 2026 roster.
