Mike Evans remains a top-tier wide receiver, consistently delivering elite performances for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers despite advancing in age.

Ryan Smith of PFF recently highlighted 10 veteran NFL players still performing at an elite level, including the Buccaneers’ iconic wide receiver Mike Evans.

“Evans made history last season, tying Jerry Rice for the most consecutive seasons topping 1,000 receiving yards despite missing time with a hamstring injury,” Smith stated. “He was elite in Tampa Bay’s wild-card playoff loss to the Commanders, dominating longtime rival Marshon Lattimore. He caught all six targets thrown his way in the matchup for 84 yards and a touchdown while also drawing a defensive pass interference penalty.”

Smith continued,

“Earlier this month, Evans commented that this year’s Buccaneers wide receiver room might be the best he’s been a part of in his career. He will be joined by fellow veteran standout Chris Godwin and first-round pick Emeka Egbuka out of Ohio State atop the depth chart this season.”

Despite a three-game absence, Mike Evans still reached 1,000 receiving yards in 2024, extending his remarkable streak and tying Jerry Rice’s record for most consecutive seasons achieving this milestone.

At 31, Mike Evans wrapped up the season with 1,004 yards and 11 touchdowns, tying for fourth-most touchdowns in the NFL in 2024. Now, he’ll aim to stay healthy and drive improvement for the Buccaneers in 2025, with hopes of replicating similar stats.

With the Buccaneers having made the playoffs in each of the last five seasons, Mike Evans will look to lead the team back to the postseason and potentially capture their second Super Bowl title during his time with the team.
