With a 30-year NFL career spanning highs and lows, Buccaneers General Manager Jason Licht has navigated the league’s triumphs and setbacks. From scouting for the Miami Dolphins in the mid-90s to leading the Buccaneers to four straight division titles, Licht’s journey embodies the NFL’s mix of glory and heartbreak.

Licht recently joined Chris Long’s “Green Light” podcast, where he was interviewed by Beau Allen, a former player Licht signed as a free agent during his time with the Buccaneers.

Licht reflected on his time with the New England Patriots, one of the many notable stops in his NFL career. He was then asked to share his perspective on witnessing Tom Brady lead the team to a Super Bowl victory.

According to Licht, Tom Brady’s impact on the Buccaneers was profound, with his influence resonating across every level of the organization.

“I mean, he elevated the social media game, the business side, sports science, ticketing, I mean, he elevated everybody,” Licht stated. “And we’re still feeling the ripple effects. We still talk about how it hasn’t been that long… You wouldn’t believe how hard he worked. This didn’t happen by accident.”

Licht also highlighted his close personal bond with Brady, something he clearly takes pride in.

“We formed a really strong relationshipe talk to this day, we text all the time. Not all the time, but often. I don’t know, he’s just a cool person to talk to.”

Brady’s influence on Licht and the entire Tampa Bay Buccaneers organization is undeniable. With the franchise on an upward trajectory, the Bucs and their fans can look forward to potentially sustained success in the years to come.
