Luke Goedeke, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ right tackle and 2022 second-round draft pick, is set to enter his contract year this season. He’s likely to command a significant pay raise, with projections suggesting a potential five-year, $107.5 million deal averaging $21.5 million per year.

Goedeke has been instrumental in the team’s success, particularly in protecting quarterback Baker Mayfield, and has earned strong grades from Pro Football Focus in recent seasons.

Goedeke recently opened up about his contract situation on WDAE sports radio.

“It’s definitely on the back of my mind,” Goedeke stated via JoeBucsFan website. “[Life-changing] it is. Yeah, me and my agent, we’re ready to work through a deal. The ball’s kind of in the team’s court at this point.”

Buccaneers GM Jason Licht may prioritize signing Luke Goedeke to a multiyear extension before the season starts. According to Pro Football Focus, Goedeke is ranked the 29th-best tackle in the league for 2025, highlighting his value to the team. Securing Goedeke long-term could be a key offseason priority for Tampa Bay.

“The former second-round pick endured a rough rookie season in 2022 but made one of the biggest improvements in the NFL when he ranked 27th among all offensive tackles with a 73.4 PFF overall grade in 2023,” Buday stated. “Goedeke has been nothing if not consistent since then, as he replicated his performance in 2024 with a 74.2 PFF overall grade, which once again ranked 27th at the position. The 3.2 percent pressure rate he allowed was the best clip of his career by a significant margin.”

Goedeke started 13 games for the Buccaneers last season, playing a key role in an offense that helped quarterback Baker Mayfield set career highs in regular-season numbers. However, Goedeke’s season was cut short by a concussion that forced him to miss four games.

Goedeke’s performance and dedication have positioned him for a substantial payday, and the Buccaneers will likely need to act to retain him long-term.
