Buccaneers Mauled By Lions 24-9

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers lost 24-9 in a game that really seemed more lopsided than that. Even after being dominated for the first 29 minutes in the first half, the Bucs kicked a late FG then scored their lone TD to cut the score to 14-9 (missed 2 point conversion).

However, the Lions essentially put the game away by scoring the next 10 points to win 24-9. While the Bucs had their chances, they committed too many mental errors and turnovers to win on the road in a hostile environment.
Baker Mayfield was hearing “ghosts” all night as he was under constant pressure for most of the night. He missed too many wide open guys when he did have time. Sometimes it just isn’t your day at the office. At 5-2 the Bucs still are in good shape but they must turn their attention quickly to the Saints. Of course the injury to Mike Evans is on most Buc fans today and rightfully so. Unfortunately his inability to stay healthy has been an issue for the last couple of years. We are already seeing the changing of the guard at WR and they will need their younger players to step up even more. My advice is flush this game and be thankful that there’s another game on Sunday. IF the Bucs are the team that most think they are, they attack the Saints early and often. 5 dash 2 is still tied for tops in the conference so chins up Buc fans.
