The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have placed their starting cornerback, Zyon McCollum, on injured reserve due to a hip injury sustained during the first half of their 29-28 loss to the Atlanta Falcons on Thursday night. This move means McCollum will miss at least four games, including the remaining three regular-season games and a potential wild-card matchup if the Bucs qualify for the playoffs.
In a corresponding move, the Buccaneers signed veteran linebacker Anthony Walker Jr. from the Indianapolis Colts’ practice squad on Monday, a move aimed at bolstering their defense amidst a challenging stretch where they’ve lost five of their past six games.
In his fourth NFL season, McCollum has accumulated 65 tackles, one interception, and six passes defended in 13 games this season.
