Buccaneers QB Tom Brady wanted revenge for free-agency snub

A trailer for Tom Brady's appearance on HBO's "The Shop: Uninterrupted" got fans riled up after showing the Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback discussing his disbelief that an unspecified team passed on him to stick with another signal-caller instead of signing him in free agency.

Although Brady didn't identify the team that passed on him, he admitted it was a club he would have never joined.

"There was a story — in free agency, one of the teams, they were interested, and all of a sudden, they weren't interested at the very end," Brady said. "I was sitting there thinking, 'You're sticking with that m----rf----r? Are you serious?'"

He added: "When I look back, I'm like, 'There's no f-----g way I would've went to that team.' But they said they didn't want me, and I know what that means. I know what that feels like. And I'm going to f--k you up because of that."

Besides the Buccaneers, Brady was reportedly being pursued by the San Francisco 49ers, Los Angeles Chargers, New Orleans Saints, Las Vegas Raiders and Chicago Bears.

Brady's interest in joining his hometown 49ers was well-known, and the Saints were in the process of bringing back Drew Brees, so the seven-time Super Bowl champion probably wasn't referencing either of those teams.

That would leave Mitchell Trubisky and the Bears and Derek Carr and the Raiders and Tyrod Taylor as possible candidates. However, Brady also could've been referencing the Los Angeles Rams and Tennessee Titans, who were rumored to be interested in him but never ended up throwing their names into the ring.

Whatever team passed on Brady likely regrets it now, especially after the future Hall of Famer led the Bucs to a Super Bowl title last season and has solid chances to do it again in 2021.
