The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are re-signing safety Kaevon Merriweather to an exclusive-rights free agent contract.

Via Fox Sports Greg Auman,

“Bucs are re-signing safety Kaevon Merriweather, an exclusive-rights free agent, to a one-year deal. Has 38 tackles in two years after making the Bucs as an undrafted rookie out of Iowa.”

More from Auman on Merriweather’s new deal,

“ERFAs just get the league minimum for their experience, which would be $1.03 million for Merriweather in 2025. Was cut briefly during last season and went to Lions’ practice squad but came back and played well amid injuries down the stretch.”

Merriweather joined the Buccaneers as an undrafted free agent on May 12, 2023. He successfully made the initial 53-man roster, announced on August 29, 2023.

Merriweather’s first stint with the Buccaneers ended on November 18, 2024, when he was waived.

Merriweather had a brief stint with the Detroit Lions, signing with their practice squad on November 20, 2024. However, his time with the Lions was short-lived, as he was signed by the Buccaneers off the Lions’ practice squad just 13 days later, on December 3, 2024.
