Buccaneers rookie TE Cade Otton credits late mother for winning TD catch

On his game-winning TD catch Sunday, his first NFL score, Tampa Bay Buccaneers rookie tight end Cade Otton believes his mom was watching from somewhere. The 23-year-old made the catch with nine seconds left in the Bucs' 16-13 win over the Rams.

Sally Otton died on Sept. 18, days after her son made his first NFL reception against the Saints. Otton said she played a crucial role in his development on and off the field.

Otton, who is filling the "Gronk"-shaped hole in the Bucs offense, finished with a career-best five catches for 68 yards. He had a clutch 28-yard catch during the winning drive.

Sally was diagnosed with Parkinson's disease a dozen years ago, according to the Tampa Bay Times.
