A few days ago a beloved member of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers coaching staff had to be hospitalized after suffering a medical episode. Today, we got an update on his health.
On Wednesday, Peete reportedly suffered a "fainting spell" and had to be taken to the hospital. Per ProFootballTalk, head coach Todd Bowles said that dehydration was likely an underlying reason for Peete's issue.
Thankfully, things appear to have gotten much better for him.
According to Bucs insider Rick Stroud of the Tampa Bay Times, Peete has already returned to practice as of Friday. He should be good to go for the Bucs as they take on the Seattle Seahawks on the road this Sunday.

At 62 years of age, Peete ranks among America’s most experienced coaches, specializing in running backs. He got his coaching start at Pittsburgh in 1989 and worked there until 1992. One of his star pupils on the Panthers was future Hall of Fame running back Curtis Martin.
Peete spent the next three years coaching wide receivers at Michigan and Rutgers until joining UCLA as running backs coach in 1996. Since then he has coached running backs across the NFL, helping multiple running backs enjoy their best seasons as pros on teams like the Raiders, Cowboys, Bears and Rams before joining the Bucs in 2023.
Peete’s first year in Tampa Bay was a rough one as the team finished dead last in yards and bottom 10 in most major rushing categories. But within a year, he turned the run game around with rookie Bucky Irving lead the attack and emerging as a bonafide star. The Bucs finished as a top-10 rushing unit for the first time since 2015.
We hope Coach Peete's recovery has gone well.
Sunday's game against the Seahawks will be a big one for the Bucs. At 3-1 and with their division rivals the 2-2 Atlanta Falcons currently on a bye week, the Bucs can potentially take a 2-win lead over the rest of the division as early as this weekend.
With the Saints looking completely hapless and the Carolina Panthers still struggling to figure out if Bryce Young is a viable starting quarterback, each win that puts distance between themselves as the Falcons is as good as gold for the Bucs.
Can Tampa Bay (+3.5) pull off the upset against Seattle this Sunday?
