Buccaneers TE Cameron Brate expected to play in Super Bowl LV

Earlier on Friday, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers listed tight end Cameron Brate as questionable for Sunday's Super Bowl LV matchup versus the Kansas City Chiefs at Raymond James Stadium due to an unspecified back injury that landed him on Thursday's injury report.

Ahead of the unofficial start of the weekend, ESPN's Adam Schefter delivered some positive news for Tampa Bay fans:

Brate finished the regular season second on the Buccaneers among tight ends behind Rob Gronkowski with 28 receptions for 282 yards and a pair of touchdowns. Six-time Super Bowl champion quarterback Tom Brady targeted Brate in all three playoff games, and the 29-year-old has thus far recorded 11 catches for 149 yards and a touchdown in the postseason.

Wide receiver Antonio Brown missed the NFC Championship Game against the Green Bay Packers because of a knee injury that bothered him the previous Sunday at the New Orleans Saints but is on track to play versus the Chiefs.

Meanwhile, Chiefs head coach Andy Reid told reporters he expects Kansas City wide receivers Sammy Watkins and Demarcus Robinson will be available on Sunday evening. Watkins missed both January playoff games because of a calf injury, while Robinson was activated from the reserve/COVID-19 list after he was tagged as a high-risk close contact this past Monday.
