Wide receiver Emeka Egbuka was a key piece to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers' offense last season. As a rookie, the former Ohio State Buckeye led the team in targets (127), receptions (63), yards (938) and touchdowns (six).

After being selected with the No. 19 pick, he quickly lived up to expectations. After appearing in all 17 regular-season games, Egbuka finished fifth in Offensive Rookie of the Year voting.

He quickly turned into one of quarterback Baker Mayfield's top targets. After the team's Week 5 win over the Seattle Seahawks, Mayfield praised the pass catcher, saying, "He continues to amaze and compete and do the things that everybody has seen him do like he did in college," per ESPN's Jenna Laine.

Egbuka is continuing to put in work, attending voluntary OTAs and mandatory minicamp. However, he and the rest of his teammates are set to enjoy a long break. With minicamp wrapping up on Thursday, players won't report to training camp until July 28.

The 23-year-old won't just be sitting at home, though. While speaking to reporters on Wednesday, Egbuka revealed he will be getting married during the time off.

“I’m getting married on the break,” Egbuka said. “Those are my main plans. I’m really looking forward to that, it’s in about two, two and a half weeks now, so clock’s ticking down.”

He first announced his engagement to his fiancée Laney Matriano on Jan. 2, just one day before the Buccaneers' Week 18 matchup against the Carolina Panthers. Now, after just over six months, the two are weeks away from tying the knot.

After his impressive rookie campaign, Egbuka will look to build on his early success when training camp begins in late July. When he returns, though, he'll be a newly married man, ready to shift his focus back onto the field.
