The Tampa Bay Buccaneers hosted free agent offensive tackle Chris Hubbard for a workout on Wednesday, scouting his potential fit with the team.
With Tristan Wirfs sidelined due to injury, the Buccaneers’ workout with veteran offensive tackle Hubbard suggests they’re seeking depth and stability on the line.
Hubbard, 34, began his NFL career in 2013 when he signed with the Pittsburgh Steelers as an undrafted free agent from UAB, initially joining the practice squad before securing two consecutive one-year deals with the team.
In March 2018, Hubbard inked a 5-year, $36.5 million contract with the Cleveland Browns, but in 2020, he and the team restructured the deal, paving the way for him to hit free agency in 2022.
Hubbard played the 2022 season with the Browns on a one-year deal, then signed with the Tennessee Titans for 2023, and most recently joined the San Francisco 49ers in 2024.
Hubbard’s 2024 season with the 49ers saw him appear in eight games, making three starts.
