Buccaneers WR Scotty Miller might miss remainder of season with turf toe injury

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers will be without one of their slot receivers, possibly for the remainder of the season.

The Bucs placed Scotty Miller on injured reserve earlier this week with a turf toe injury. According to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport (h/t Dov Kleiman), he could be sidelined for the remainder of the year.

Miller suffered the injury during the Bucs' 34-24 loss to the Los Angeles Rams. He caught two of three targets for 11 yards and saw more playing time with Antonio Brown sidelined due to COVID-19 protocols.

Miller has the best season of his career in 2020, catching 33 passes for 501 yards and three touchdowns in 16 games. However, he has fallen further down the depth chart this year, with Tyler Johnson serving as the team's No. 4 receiver behind Mike Evans, Chris Godwin and Brown.

With Miller sidelined, rookie wideout Jaelon Darden or return specialist Jaydon Mickens could see more snaps at receiver.

The Buccaneers are preparing for a Week 4 matchup against the New England Patriots.
