It’s been a tough stretch for the Bucs, but could this be the week when Tampa Bay rights its ship?
The Bucs have fallen to a disappointing 4-6 record after starting the season 3-1, but the good news is that this week, the team will face the Giants, a team that is 2-8 and just promoted its third-string quarterback Tommy DeVito into the starting role.
A win this week could be Tampa’s last opportunity to keep its playoff hopes alive, but that could depend on how healthy this team is coming off a bye week.
A large part of the Bucs’ struggles came after they lost superstar wide receiver Mike Evans, but this week, the future Hall of Famer is expected to return to action for the first time since his hamstring injury in Week 7.
Unfortunately, Evans is far from the only player on this roster dealing with an injury. Star left tackle Tristan Wirfs sustained an injury against the San Francisco 49ers, so his availability is expected to remain up in the air until kickoff.
