As the Buffalo Bills enter the 2026 NFL season with a new head coach in Joe Brady; they need the offense to get started quickly and show that the change from offensive coordinator to head coach won’t impact the outcome.
That being said, they got some encouragement ahead of the season regarding Khalil Shakir and his injury.
According to Matt Zenitz, he reported that the Bills are optimistic Shakir will be available for their Week 1 matchup against the Houston Texans. Shakir has been sidelined due to an undisclosed injury, but this update provides optimism.

With the Bills having a reshaped receiving room with the addition of DJ Moore, having Shakir healthy to round out the trio of him, Moore, and Keon Coleman is crucial for the Bills to get a good look at if they have surrounded Josh Allen with the correct talent of the future.
