Buffalo Bills Extend Contract Of Sean McDermott; Locked In Through 2027
Trevor Ruszkowski-USA TODAY Sports

The Buffalo Bills have seen a lot of success under head coach Sean McDermott. Since taking over, he has turned a team that was the laughing stock of the league into a perennial contender. There was some question of what the Bills would do after three years in a row of heartbreaking playoff losses. The Bills answered that question with an announcement on Friday. The team has extended McDermott through the 2027 season.

Buffalo Bills Extend Head Coach Sean McDermott

McDermott wasn’t the only one extended. General Manager Brandon Beane also received an extension. These two have built success in Buffalo with the help of quarterback Josh Allen. It hasn’t been all Allen. The Stefon Diggs trade continues to be one of the best in franchise history. The defense has been in the top half of the league as well. The real question that remains is can these two get the team to win the AFC.

Can The Bills Break Through?

The AFC is tough this year. The Chiefs are the top dogs and have been a thorn in the side of the Bills for the past three years. The Bengals have proven they have what it takes to win a Super Bowl. Other teams like the Jets, Ravens, and Dolphins have been loading up on talent in order to make a run in the playoffs. With the one game playoff format, anything can happen. The Bills have to hope that they can win the division and then get a couple of things to go their way in the playoffs.

The Buffalo Bills are counting on head coach Sean McDermott getting them to the promised land. This franchise is craving a Super Bowl and they finally have the team to do it. The 2023 season will be tough but the hope is this is the year they finally break through.
