Buffalo Bills’ First-Round Pick Gets Update After Worrisome Injury in Minicamp
Kentucky Wildcats cornerback Maxwell Hairston poses with NFL commissioner Roger Goodell after being selected by the Baltimore Ravens as the 30th pick in the first round of the 2025 NFL Draft at Lambeau Field.

The Buffalo Bills have just concluded their minicamp, but there is more to come in the offseason for Josh Allen and company, with the training camp just on the horizon. The Bills’ training camp is scheduled for July, which gives their bodies enough rest before things get serious in preparation for the upcoming 2025 season.

Among those who should be able to benefit from the long break is rookie defensive back Maxwell Hairston, who suffered an apparent lower-body injury during the minicamp last week. While that is concerning news for Buffalo, the belief is that the former Kentucky Wildcats standout will be just fine in time for the training camp.

Separate from those above, first-round rookie cornerback Max Hairston did practice with his new team during training camp. However, general manager Brandon Beane confirmed that Hairston sustained a hamstring injury on the third and final minicamp practice but he is expected to be OK by training camp in July

Buffalo Bills could have someone special in Hairston

Hairston is among those counted upon by the Bills to help their stop unit that struggled against the pass in 2024.

Last season, Buffalo allowed the ninth-most passing yards per game, and they tried to address that in the offseason in part by using a first-round pick on Hairston, who was the 30th overall pick in the 2025 NFL draft.

In three seasons with Kentucky, Hairston had six interceptions, five coming in 2023, with 10 passes defended and 89 combined tackles.
