The Buffalo Bills have been going through a situation with running back James Cook this offseason. He has been wanting a new deal, but the Bills have not seemed to be on the same page with him.

Cook is locked in and under contract for the 2025 season. Buffalo seems prepared to have him heading into the final year of his deal without any kind of resolution in place.

There have been some questions about whether or not Cook cold hold out. Brandon Beane, the Bills' general manager, spoke out with an update about Cook on Wednesday.

In an interview with Adam Schein of Mad Dog Sports Radio, Beane opened up about Cook.

"I have no doubt when it's time to play football, he'll be ready to roll," Beane said.

Whether Cook sees things the same way remains to be seen.

During the 2024 NFL season, Cook had a breakout season. He was a huge part of the electrifying offense that Buffalo put on the field nearly each and every week.

In the 16 games he played throughout the regular season, Cook carried the football 207 times for 1,009 yards and 16 touchdowns, averaging 4.9 yards per carry. He also caught 32 passes for 258 yards and two more scores.

At 25 years old, Cook would be worth a decent chunk of money on the open market. Whether the Bills plan to re-sign Cook after the 2025 season or let him walk in free agency remains to be seen as well.

For now, Buffalo seems confident that he'll be on the field when the season kicks off.
