Buffalo Bills Linked To Big Trade For AFC South Wide Receiver Before 2024 Season
Andrew Nelles / The Tennessean / USA TODAY NETWORK

Josh Allen and the Buffalo Bills went through some major changes on the offensive side of the football during the NFL offseason.

Obviously, the biggest move was a trade sending star wide receiver Stefon Diggs to the Houston Texans. Unfortunately, the Bills also lost wide receiver Gabriel Davis to the Jacksonville Jaguars in NFL free agency. That has left Buffalo with some major questions at the wide receiver position.

Keon Coleman was brought in during the 2024 NFL Draft and the Bills have added receivers like Curtis Samuel and Marquez Valdes-Scantling. Those moves are solid, but they could use another move for a more talented option that could turn into a true No. 1 target for Allen.

With that in mind, perhaps the Buffalo Bills could consider making a trade ahead of the upcoming season.

Buffalo Bills Linked To Big Trade For AFC South Wide Receiver

Gary Davenport of Bleacher Report recently linked the Bills to one specific wide receiver that they could target in trade talks. That wide receiver is none other than Tennessee Titans wideout Treylon Burks.

“With DeAndre Hopkins, Calvin Ridley and Tyler Boyd all ostensibly ahead of Burks on the depth chart, he’s at best the No. 4 option for a [Tennessee] passing attack that ranked 29th in the NFL In 2023. The Bills need a second boundary receiver to pair with Coleman. A rebuilding Titans team can use all the draft capital it can get ahead of what may well be a long season in Nashville. And Burks needs a fresh start—and a change of scenery. The upgrade at quarterback from Will Levis to Josh Allen wouldn’t hurt.”

Burks would be well worth the gamble for the Buffalo Bills. He may not have developed the way the Titans were hoping just yet, but he’s still very young and has shown flashes of big potential.

Throughout his first two NFL seasons, Burks has played in just 22 games. He has missed time due to injuries. In the 22 games he has played, he has caught 49 passes for 665 yards and a touchdown.

Granted, those numbers don’t make fans get excited about him. However, he has great athletic ability and stands in at 6-foot-2 and 225 pounds. Playing with a quarterback like Josh Allen could be exactly what he needs to find his full potential.

With that being said, a trade for Burks would not break the bank for the Buffalo Bills. Due to his lack of production, the Titans won’t be able to ask for a monstrous return.

Expect to continue hearing rumors about the Bills as the 2024 season continues drawing closer. They may stand pat with what they have at wide receiver, but taking a flier on a talent like Burks would make sense.
