Buffalo Bills named great fit for All-Pro defensive back
Denny Medley-USA TODAY Sports

The Buffalo Bills haven't made much of any splashes in the free agent market this offseason.

If anything, their biggest splashes have come with the players they have let go or traded elsewhere. In doing so, though, they have created holes on their roster, one of which is at the safety position.

Jordan Poyer was released and subsequently signed with the Miami Dolphins, and it is still unclear if Micah Hyde will be back with the team, though right now he is not and very well may retire.

With that in mind, there is a three-time All-Pro still on the market that may be in the best interest of the Bills in pursuing, according to one analyst.

Marcus Mosher of The 33rd Team says that the Bills and Justin Simmons would make for a great pairing.

"[Simmons] isn’t quite as dynamic as he was earlier in his career and will turn 31 during the 2024 season," Mosher wrote. "But he is a clear upgrade for the Bills. He would be a welcome addition to a young safety room that could use some leadership. Simmons isn’t a long-term solution, but he would be an excellent stop-gap option until Bishop is ready to take the job."

It wouldn't be the first time the Bills signed a big-name defender from Denver, as they signed Von Miller ahead of the 2022 season.
