Buffalo Bills Urged to Consider Aggressive Last-Minute Trade

An NFL analyst is pushing the Buffalo Bills to make a surprising move at wide receiver just days before the start of the 2026 season.

Brad Gagnon of Bleacher Report says the Bills should try to land Tre Tucker from the Las Vegas Raiders.

The suggestion comes after Buffalo spent the offseason rebuilding its defense while making only modest changes on offense. The Bills signed DJ Moore to serve as the team’s top wideout. Khalil Shakir remains a key piece in the passing game.

Even with those two in place, questions linger about the rest of the receiver group.

Joshua Palmer, Keon Coleman and rookie Skyler Bell all have roles, but none has established himself as a sure thing. Gagnon noted that some people do not see wide receiver as a priority.

“Many would argue wide receiver is not a need, and it barely makes this list after the addition of Moore,” Gagnon wrote. “That said, Moore is 29 and saw his yardage numbers drop off sharply in his final couple seasons with the Bears. There’s decent depth beyond that, but they’re only keeping five players.”

That limited roster spot is why Gagnon believes Buffalo should look outside the organization.He specifically pointed to Tucker, a player known for his speed.

“It might be tough to convince the Raiders to move Tucker, but he’s a speed demon in a contract year who could put this offense over the top with the right supporting cast,” Gagnon wrote. “It’s possible Las Vegas will shift its focus to Jalen Nailor, Jack Bech and the tight ends and take something for Tucker before the deadline.”

Tucker is playing the final season of his rookie contract. The Raiders drafted him in the third round in 2023.

Last year he caught 57 passes for 696 yards and five touchdowns. Those numbers show he can stretch the field and score.

A player with that kind of burst could give Josh Allen another vertical option. Buffalo’s offense has long relied on Allen’s ability to make big plays downfield.

New head coach Joe Brady, who previously served as offensive coordinator, wants to simplify things for his quarterback.

Brady made clear that Allen remains the center of the franchise.

“He is the leader of this organization, and the weight that he has on his shoulders is something that I can’t even imagine,” Brady said. “Josh Allen is the best player in the NFL, and I have to grow. Part of me growing is that it’s going to allow him to be a better version of himself.”

Brady continued: “I’m so excited to be able to continue this journey with him. I have so much love for that man right here, and all I want is for him to get everything that he deserves. I’m going to do everything I can to get him what he deserves.”

Adding a fast receiver like Tucker would fit that goal. It would give Allen another weapon without forcing a complete overhaul of the scheme.

The Bills open the season on the road against the Houston Texans on Sept. 13. That leaves little time to complete a trade before the games begin.

Whether Las Vegas would actually deal Tucker remains uncertain. The Raiders may decide they need his speed themselves.

Still, Gagnon’s argument has drawn attention among Bills fans looking for one more piece on offense.

Buffalo already strengthened its defense this offseason. A late addition at receiver could be the kind of move that pushes a contender over the top.

Tucker’s combination of speed and upcoming free agency makes him an intriguing target if the Raiders are willing to listen.
