'Buffalo vs. The World': Bills Training Camp Previewed in New Hard Knocks Trailer

The Buffalo Bills are set to report to training camp this week ahead of a 2025 season that faces expectations as high as any team in the league.

Behind the MVP in quarterback Josh Allen, the Bills rolled to a 13-4 record in 2024 before, yet again, falling to the Kansas City Chiefs in a close AFC Championship Game.

With these expectations to contend, the Bills will be featured in this year's season of "Hard Knocks", HBO's behind-the-scenes look at training camp.

The show's new trailer was released on Wednesday, and it is sure to get Bills Mafia pumped up for the new season.

The HBO production will debut on Aug. 5.

Allen is no doubt the star of the show, but his training camp will be especially interesting as we get a glimpse at how his receiving corps looks.

The Bills haven't had a star-caliber wideout since Stefon Diggs a few years back, and this year will be more of the same. It is a young bunch with Kkalil Shakir (fresh off a new contract) and Keon Coleman expected to be Allen's top targets. Veterans Josh Palmer and Curtis Samuel also fill out the unit.

A major question entering camp surrounds star running back James Cook, who is seeking a new contract after leading the NFL in rushing touchdowns (16) last year. General manager Brandon Beane said Cook has reported to camp and is still expected to practice.

“James is a competitive dude. He’s a stud. He’s a great teammate,” Beane said in his press conference. “He wants to be here. He loves ball. So many of the things that we learned about James through the scouting process — and it’s been fun to watch him grow and mature on and off the field."

Defensively, some of the headline-grabbing move was the signing of edge rusher Joey Bosa to form a solid front alongside Greg Rousseau and Ed Oliver. Buffalo also added a haul of defensive backs in Tre'Davious White, Dane Jackson and Darrick Forrest in free agency.

Collectively, the defense will need to be better after they put the offense in tough spots all throughout last season, especially in that AFC title game. Buffalo's first five draft picks being defensive players could help in this regard as well.

Last year, the Bills made history by being the first team in NFL history to beat two teams in the same season that won at least 14 games (Kansas City and Detroit).

What the team is really after, however, is for those big performances to come when they matter most in the playoffs.

This roster has plenty of firepower to make that happen.
