With Tremaine Edmunds, TJ Edwards, and Jack Sanborn already on the Chicago Bears roster, the need for a linebacker is questionable. However, there are some options to move on from Edmunds or Edwards, and new defensive coordinator Dennis Allen could be interested in bringing in some new blood. The best opportunity for the Bears to find new talent at the linebacker position will be in the middle rounds of the 2025 NFL Draft.
On Tap Sports Net's Building The Board scouts Nick Demao and Quinten Krzysko dove into the linebacker position. You can tune in on Apple, Spotify, or YouTube!
The Bears could add a linebacker or two this off-season, whether that means improving their depth or shaking up the starting lineup. Either way, the 2025 NFL Draft would be the best place to look for an inexpensive addition with upside. So, let’s break down a few of their potential targets. You can find our video breakdowns, scouting reports, mock drafts, and other content on the Building The Board homepage!
Since the end of the regular season, the Building The Board team has worked hard to build a draft board for the Bears. This board accounts for scheme fit, draft preferences from previous classes, and positional needs.
Our scouts have been reviewing players available in the 2025 NFL Draft, aiming to create a final top-100 draft board for the Bears. In the latest installment of our podcast, Building The Board, we discussed our initial batch of players, including some linebacker prospects the Bears should consider.
We currently have just over 70 players graded, but we still need to return to the tape to complete the top 100. Look out for future podcast episodes, as we plan to knock out two positional breakdowns per week. Next week, Steve Letizia and Quinten Krzysko will examine offensive linemen in this year's class. And if you missed any previous installments, you can find them here!
