Caleb Williams’ cryptic reaction to the Chicago Bears’ supposed new helmet for the 2026 NFL season has sparked online debate.
Since the 1950s, the Bears have worn a deep navy blue helmet as part of their official uniforms. Under certain lighting, this color can appear almost black. In 1962, the Bears added a white “wishbone C” logo.
In 1974, it changed to an orange “C” with a white border, which remains the team’s standard today. The Bears’ branding has always emphasized simplicity and tradition.
In 2022, the team introduced an alternate orange helmet, which is worn only with specific alternate uniforms. This marked the first departure from navy as a primary helmet color.
On Thursday, an all-white alternate Bears helmet design surfaced on X, featuring a large bear head graphic that replaced the traditional “C” logo.
The post came from a social media account known for satirical and humorous sports content. It featured an image of the white Bears helmet redesign with two dark blue helmets. Nevertheless, the rumored helmets caught Williams’ attention.
Williams shared the post on his account and reacted with “
,” or two snowflake emojis. His response quickly sparked a debate on the platform.

Many fans interpreted the 24-year-old Bears quarterback’s reaction as an endorsement of the design.
“My goat approves,” a fan said.
“Yes sir! We need these next season brother!
,” another commented.
“CALEB NOOOOOOOOO,” one user wrote.
“Caleb NOOOOO you don’t understand the fundamentals of classicist sports uniform design,” another said.
Then one fan suggested, “They need to go back to the Bear logo or try an updated Bear logo.”
Others celebrated the redesign, saying “Polar bear unis finally!!!” and “Oh god I need this to be real.”
It remains unclear whether Williams likes the design. He has not yet posted anything that explains his reaction. However, the snowflake emoji is often used to signify “cool” or stylish, especially in sports and fashion culture.
