Caleb Williams' sophomore season in the NFL has been nothing short of superb. While his numbers are about the same as last year, he's taking far fewer sacks and the Bears offense is ascending because of it. But as the Bears approach their first playoff berth in years, one announcer has a bone to pick with him.
Appearing on SI Media with Jimmy Traina, ESPN Monday Night Football announcer Joe Buck was asked about Williams' alleged feud with Buck's broadcast partner Troy Aikman. While Buck didn't explicitly confirm that the two have bad blood, he did mention that Williams has seemingly skipped multiple interviews with them this season.

“We understand you guys are busy. You’re preparing for a game. The last thing you probably want to do is talk to us. It’s kind of part of the drill, but we will do it when it works for you, on your schedule,” Buck said.
Buck said that the issue reoccurred in both Week 1 and Week 6. In both instances, Williams was simply a no-show for meetings. He recalled waiting on a Zoom call for Williams, only for the Bears QB to never arrive.
“We had that same issue Week 1 with Caleb,” Buck told Traina. “And then we had it again. I guess he brought it up saying, ‘Well, I didn’t talk to Troy before the game.’ But we sat on a Zoom waiting forever and he just never came! I don’t know what else we can do.”
Buck also admonished Williams for previously implying that it was Aikman who missed the meeting.
“That’s the part that bothered me the most… this was on your guys’ schedule. And we sat there and we had it happen twice within the first six or seven weeks… I thought the intimation that we weren’t there or [Aikman] wasn’t there was not an accurate description of how that all went down.”
Aikman has had some less than kind words for Williams in the past. As a result, fans on social media who saw the allegation from Buck weren't exactly looking to place an arm over Aikman's shoulders.
Some fans may accuse Williams of acting unprofessionally towards Aikman but the same can be said of the reverse.
