The UCLA Bruins have begun the 2025 college football season with a 0-3 record. The Bruins lost to Utah, 43-10, at the Rose Bowl, then lost to UNLV on the road, 30-23, before an embarrassing Week 3 home loss to New Mexico, 35-10.
The Week 3 defeat was the final straw for head coach DeShaun Foster, as UCLA fired him in his second season running the show.
Foster went 5-7 in 2024, and he was quickly named the head coach in February of 2024 after Chip Kelly surprisingly left to become the offensive coordinator at Ohio State.
Now, UCLA is searching for another head coach, but calls are mounting for UCLA to also fire athletic director Martin Jarmond.
A GoFundMe account has been created by Bruins Forchange, and it calls for Jarmond to be fired after the way he has handled the past few seasons.
"UCLA Football deserves to have leadership that respects the 4 letters," the GoFundMe post reads. "The current athletic department leadership (read: Martin Jarmond) has embraced poor performance and alienated fans from their beloved program. Jarmond has recently failed both the university and a proud alumnus (DeShaun Foster) by putting Foster in a position he was clearly not suited to handle."
The plan is to purchase a mobile billboard advertisement to call for Jarmond's firing in the public light.
"Please contribute to allow us to purchase a mobile billboard advertisement that places pressure upon the university to remove Martin Jarmond from his position as athletic director," the post continued. "100% of funds received will be put toward this cause."
In 2023, questions arose about Chip Kelly's future with the program, but Jarmond backed him and decided to keep him around at UCLA. Months later, Kelly left on his own accord to go to Ohio State, and Jarmond hired Foster days later despite him having no head coaching experience.
Bill Plaschke of The Los Angeles Times also stated that Jarmond should either be paid to be let go or UCLA should allow a general manager to make the hiring.
"But something has to happen," Plaschke wrote. "Hire a football general manager and let them pick the new coach while Jarmond moves to the background. Or simply pay Jarmond, let him walk, and start from scratch like you should have done two years ago at the end of the Chip Kelly era."
To make things worse for UCLA fans, Chancellor Julio Frenk does plan on having Jarmond lead the search.

UCLA hired Jarmond in 2020, and while the Bruins have done well in other sports, the football program is declining quickly, and changes need to be made.
As far as the GoFundMe goes, it had a goal of $2,500 but has already raised $3,345 as of Thursday morning. It doesn't appear that UCLA will move on from Jarmond, at least not yet.
