Calvin Ridley out of Falcons' minicamp after minor foot surgery

Calvin Ridley is now the Atlanta Falcons' No. 1 wide receiver after Julio Jones was traded to the Tennessee Titans. However, he's not on the field for minicamp.

According to ESPN's Jeff Schultz, Ridley underwent minor foot surgery after a lingering issue from 2020. It's possible he will miss the start of training camp.

With Jones injured for much of the 2020 season, Ridley emerged as Atlanta's leading receiver. The 26-year-old caught 90 passes for a career-high 1,374 yards and nine touchdowns.

The Falcons are hoping Ridley and rookie tight end Kyle Pitts will be able to fill the void left by Jones.
