Cam Newton jersey on display in Patriots Hall of Fame at Gillette Stadium

Being Tom Brady's successor isn't an easy task, but Cam Newton is doing it with ease. The former Carolina Panthers signal-caller nearly led the New England Patriots to a 2-0 record with a fabulous performance against the Seattle Seahawks in Week 2, but unfortunately came up short in a 35-30 loss.

Newton is quickly becoming a fan favorite in Foxboro, and the Patriots have now cemented his status at Gillette Stadium. On Saturday, Newton's jersey was hung in the Patriots Hall of Fame, signifying a new era.

The former MVP got his first win in a Patriots uniform during Week 1 against the Miami Dolphins. The 31-year-old has completed 71.4 percent of his passes for 552 yards and one touchdown against one interception in two games. He has 122 yards and four touchdowns rushing.

Newton has looked terrific through two games in New England, and if he keeps it up, then more of his game-worn items likely will be put on display at the Patriots Hall of Fame, which is visited by people from all over the globe.

Newton and the Patriots will look to get their second win of the season on Sunday against the Las Vegas Raiders at Gillette Stadium.
