Cam Ward Compared to Super Bowl Winning Quarterback

Going into the 2025 NFL Draft, many believe Miami quarterback Cam Ward could be the first player off the board to the Tennessee Titans or any team wanting to trade up and get him.

He's, of course, coming off an amazing season with Miami, completing 305-of-454 passes for 4,313 yards, 39 touchdowns, seven interceptions, and a 172.2 passing efficiency rating.

Leading up to the draft, Ward's been compared to a wide range of NFL quarterbacks, both past and present, and on "The Rich Eisen Show," Trevor Sikkema of Pro Football Focus gave his opinion.

“I think Ben Roethlisberger is a great play style comp,” he said. “Now Ben was bigger, right… but I think both of these guys are somewhat similar in the overall arm talent they have, despite Cam Ward being a little bit smaller… And when things are breaking down that improvisation. Big Ben was one of the best of a decade plus, 15 years of doing that at the NFL level, in a way where when you look at cam word ceiling. That's the type of quarterback and the mentality that I see with him.”

Of course, as he mentioned, that size difference is very significant, as Ward is listed as 6' 2", 223 pounds, while Roethlisberger was 6' 5", 240 pounds.

Throughout his 18-year career in the NFL, Roethlisberger built up what could become worthy of a spot in the Pro Football Hall of Fame, throwing for 64,088 yards, 418 touchdowns and 211 interceptions.

In addition, he was named to six Pro Bowls and led the Pittsburgh Steelers to two Super Bowl wins, so if whatever team does end up with Ward gets anything similar to that, it will be considered a major success.
