The Kansas City Chiefs have lost a lot of their bandwagon followers after the brutal Super Bowl loss to the Philadelphia Eagles.
Despite being one of the most dominant teams , especially over the past three seasons, some think the end is coming for Andy Reid and his team. Having been up for so long, some think that the Chiefs will now start to regress.
But for former NFL star Terron Armstead, who was speaking on Good Morning Football, the Chiefs are still top of the mountain.
"The Chiefs, they've owned the league," Armstead said. "We went through this Patriots dynasty, we're in the midst of this Chiefs dynasty. Even though they came up short last year, they have owned the league, dominated the AFC."
So, maybe Chiefs fans can feel that ...
Until we see the Chiefs actually have a serious drop-off, it will remain status quo in the AFC for Patrick Mahomes and Co.
Yes, over the past couple of seasons, the offense hasn't been the swashbuckling unit we used to see early in the Mahomes era, with Steve Spagnuolo's defense now being the leader, but there are still ample weapons at Mahomes' disposal.
He didn't have Rashee Rice after Week 2, and didn't have Marquise Brown until Week 16 last season, so two premier weapons were unavailable. Having both back will surely see an uptick in performance for Patrick and the passing game in 2025, plus a rejuvenated Travis Kelce.
As for if the Chiefs are the team to beat in the AFC, they've won it three straight seasons, so until another team knocks them off the mountain, it's as you were.
