Can San Francisco 49ers Survive Injury Wave?

The San Francisco 49ers, after the past two weeks, now have questions over injuries in key positions. The 49ers, in past seasons, have had problems with injuries. The Niners players that got hurt during the last two weeks were Emmanual Mosley, Nick Bosa, and Jimmie Ward being out for a while. Along with the injuries in week 4, it became worse with Charvarius Ward, and tackle Mike McGlinchey Sunday against the Falcons. San Francisco, with these injuries, will have to compete against strong opponents, in the upcoming weeks. San Francisco injuries, especially in the defense are affecting this season and most likely end the season for them.

Major Niners Stars Hurt

The 49ers are not strangers to having injury riddle seasons, with 2020 being their most recent one. San Francisco injuries this season began, with star running back Elijah Mitchell in week 1, and Trey Lance having a season-ending injury in week 2. The injury wave for the Niners kept coming, with Nick Bosa, Emmanuel Mosley, and Jimmie Ward getting hurt in week 4. These players, are key players in the defensive core and could hurt them in the long run of this 2022 season.

The Niners’ injury situation got worse today, losing defensive back Charvarious Ward and offensive tackle Mike McGlinchy in their loss against the Atlanta Falcons. With the loss of Ward, the secondary for the team would be weaker to air heavy offenses. San Fran is losing a lot of key players to injury and might not be able to sustain a successful season this year.

The 49ers Rough Schedule

The 49ers having these crucial injuries in the season will heavily affect them in the next couple of weeks against robust teams. In the next week, the 49ers will face the Kansas City Chiefs, who have a great offense led by Pat Mahomes. The Chiefs’ offense will be a tough opponent for the Niners without Nick Bosa to lead the defense. There is hope that Bosa will be back against the Chiefs from Kyle Shanahan.

After the Super Bowl rematch in week 7, there will be a rematch against the Rams who might want payback. LA, even with a weak team, can take advantage of the Niners’ injuries. San Fran will also be in the hostile territory of SoFi stadium in their rematch against the Rams. The schedule looks to be rough for the Niners with these match-ups and stronger teams, including the Chargers and Buccaneers. With the injuries mounting up in the schedule, San Fran might see their season end with a whimper.

Can The 49ers Survive

San Francisco injuries, especially in the defense are affecting this season and most likely end the season for them. The injuries of key players in the defense can harm them, especially without star Nick Bosa. With the 49ers’ schedule getting more difficult, the injuries might cost them crucial games against strong opponents this month. San Francisco has a strong team with the ability to make a strong playoff push, but injuries might cost them another season.
