‘Candid’ Joe Burrow opens up about the influence Patrick Mahomes has had on his game

They will meet each other on week 2 of the 2024 season, which many analysts have labeled as another championship-caliber game. Burrow missed the second half of last season due to an injury in his throwing hand and claimed he was looking forward to playing Mahomes on the recent episode of Up & Adams with host Kay Adams .

Joe Burrow spoke about recovering from his wrist injury

A healthy Burrow is a threat to any defense. However, more often than not, the 27-year-old had found himself on the doctor’s bed for various injuries.

He suffered from a sore calf prior to the 2023 season, and the Bengals doubted whether he would recover enough to start for them, which he eventually did. Then midseason, he hurt his wrist and sat out the remainder of the year as Jake Browning took over.

Burrow revealed it wasn’t the best of times for him personally. His recurring injuries cut down on his time in football, which frustrated him.

You work so hard for it, and then it’s taken away from you, and you can’t do that. Whenever the injuries start to stack up, your football mortality comes into the back of your mind. Joe Burrow said

While he missed action for a long time, the Pro Bowler believes the extended period on the sidelines was a blessing in disguise.

I think I really have a leg up on everybody this year. I had 10 to 12 extra weeks of the offseason, which I think has really paid off body-wise. Joe Burrow added

Previously, the NFL Comeback Player disclosed learning the piano during rehab to speed up the process of healing his wrist. He also highlighted being excited to play the Super Bowl in Louisiana because he played college football for the LSU Tigers.
