After Julian Edelman was inducted into the Patriots Hall of Fame on the Saturday before the team’s game vs. the Steelers, it’s time to look ahead to 2026 and the next wave of franchise legends who could receive their red jacket.
Three names stand out among those eligible next year: Adam Vinatieri, Logan Mankins, and Rob Gronkowski. Each left a distinct mark on the Patriots dynasty, embodying the success the franchise enjoyed during its 20-year run.

Simply put, there is no Patriots dynasty without Adam Vinatieri. His right foot delivered two of the most impactful plays in NFL history – the Snow Bowl game-tying field goal against Oakland in the 2001 divisional round and the game-winner in Super Bowl 36. Two years later, another clutch field goal sealed Super Bowl 38, giving the Patriots their second title.
Already a finalist in 2025, he was the definition of consistency, making 81% of his field goals in New England and scoring over 1000 points before continuing his career with the Colts.
The Patriots’ dynasty was kick-started on his right leg, and it wouldn’t be a stretch to say that without Adam Vinatieri, Tom Brady‘s legacy would look very different.
Drafted in 2005, Logan Mankins immediately brought toughness and attitude to the Patriots’ offensive line. A six-time Pro Bowler and a 2010 First-Team All-Pro, Bill Belichick once said,
“Logan Mankins is everything we would ever want in a football player. It is hard to imagine a better player at his position, a tougher competitor, or a person to represent our program. He is one of the all-time great Patriots and the best guard I ever coached”.
Another finalist for the 2025 class, Mankins became the blueprint for what the Patriots demanded upfront. Though he never secured a Super Bowl ring, Mankins was a cornerstone of the Patriots’ undefeated roster in 2007 and the 2011 AFC champion team.
His leadership in the trenches and willingness to play through injury defined the Patriots’ offensive line during his tenure with the team.
Eligible for the first time in 2026, Rob Gronkowski is the most dominant tight end to ever play the game. After being selected with the 42nd pick of the 2010 NFL draft, Gronk recorded 521 receptions, 7861 receiving yards, 79 touchdowns, five Pro Bowls, four First-Team All-Pro honors, and three Super Bowl titles in his nine seasons with the team.
Gronk wasn’t just productive – he was unstoppable. His chemistry with Tom Brady fueled one of the best duos of all time, and his ability to take over games both as a receiver and a blocker made him indispensable to the Patriots’ success.
Beyond the numbers, his energy, personality, and clutch moments made him one of the most beloved figures in not only franchise history but NFL history.
Few players make the decision this easy. When it comes to Patriots legends, Gronk isn’t a debate; he’s a lock.
