Ladd McConkey, Los Angeles Chargers wide receiver, will be getting married to his fiancée, Sydeny Horne, this weekend. McConkey took to Instagram to repost his engagement pics from last year, and captioned that he cannot wait to call Horne ‘his wife’.

McConkey and Sydney Horne have known each other ever since the two were children, and began dating when they were just teenagers. Horne has supported McConkey through his college football career and his NFL career. McConkey proposed to Horned last year and will get married to her this weekend.

“3 days until we say I do. I can’t wait to call you my wife! I love you! @sydneyhorne” Ladd McConkey captioned his Instagram post about marrying his fiancée during this weekend.

Ladd McConkey has been playing for the Los Angeles Chargers since 2024, after the team selected him as the 34th pick in the second round of the NFL draft. Before entering the league, McConkey played college football for the Georgia Bulldogs from 2020 to 2023. In his rookie season with the Chargers, McConkey managed a total of 82 receptions for 1,149 yards, scoring seven touchdowns.

Meanwhile, McConkey and the rest of the Los Angeles Chargers will surely hope that they do better this season than the previous one. In the 2024 NFL season, the Chargers finished second in the AFC West after winning 11 games and losing six, one spot below the Kansas City Chiefs. The Chargers made it to the Wild Card Round and played against the Houston Texans. However, LA lost with a final score of 32-12 and was officially chucked from the NFL tournament.

Ladd McConkey Might Not Play With Zion Johnson In 2025 Season

In other news, Ladd McConkey’s Los Angeles Chargers are still undecided on going forward with guard Zion Johnson. The team will need to make a decision soon in terms of Johnson’s fifth-year option with the player.

Zion Johnson has been playing for the Los Angeles Chargers since 2022, after being selected as the 17th pick in the very first round of the draft. However, Johnson has failed to perform extraordinarily for the team, and this may not warrant a positive fifth-year option for him.

The team also seems like they will be placing Johnson in different positions this season to try his skill-sets there. However, this also seems unconfirmed. In the 2024 NFL season, Johnson managed seven sacks for the team. With his sub-par performance, it is unlikely that the Chargers will be eager to invest more in Johnson for the upcoming season.
