The Arizona Cardinals have made a practice squad move ahead of their Week 2 matchup against the Los Angeles Rams.

The team announced today that it signed defensive lineman Angelo Blackson to the practice squad and released defensive lineman Tyler Manoa, who just joined the squad last week.

Blackson played in 16 games for the Cardinals in 2020, recording 24 tackles, 2.5 sacks, eight quarterback hits and four tackles for loss. He was originally the 100th overall pick out of Auburn in 2015 and has spent time with five different teams during the regular season across his 10-year NFL career: the Jacksonville Jaguars (2023), Chicago Bears (2021-22), Cardinals (2020), Houston Texans (2017-19) and Tennessee Titans (2015-16).

In total, Blackson has played in 128 games (42 starts) for his career and recorded 179 tackles, 8.5 sacks, 27 quarterback hits, 17 tackles for loss, eight passes defensed, one interception, four fumble recoveries and one forced fumble. He joins Arizona after spending the preseason with the Denver Broncos and playing in 11 total games for Jacksonville in 2023.

Here is how the Cardinals’ full depth chart, including the defensive line, looks heading into Week 2:

Arizona did not have any injuries on the defensive line in its Week 1 loss to the Bills after placing first-round pick Darius Robinson on injured reserve before the season started, so we will see if or when Blackson gets the call-up to the active roster.
