GLENDALE – The NFL announced all of the 24 joint practices during this preseason cycle, with the Arizona Cardinals and Denver Broncos filling in one of those slots. Ahead of their road preseason game on the August 16th, Arizona will travel to Denver to have a joint practice on the 14th ahead of the game. Head coach Jonathan Gannon talked to reporters where he outlined the team’s schedule ahead of the joint practice and the preseason game in August.
“We’re just going to have one big one. We’re going to practice with Denver Thursday. We’ll get there on Wednesday — practice on our own, practice Thursday versus Denver, Friday be on our own and then play them Saturday night.”
Gannon praised Broncos head coach Sean Payton calling him “one of the best to do it,” highlighting the teams schemes and success on all three phrases. Denver made the postseason for the first time since its Super Bowl victory in 2015, with rookie quarterback Bo Nix under center. Arizona is looking to replicate that type of success this season, looking to break its four-year playoff appearance and nine-year playoff win drought.
Quarterback Kyler Murray is eyeing to secure his first playoff win of his career and has the talent on the roster to achieve. The six-year Cardinals quarterback is entering his third season with Gannon and both share the same expecatation that the team can make some serious noise next season, which starts this preseason against a playoff-caliber team like the Broncos.
