GLENDALE – Arizona Cardinals quarterback Kyler Murray has been “in his bag” this offseason, according to All-Pro Safety teammate Budda Baker. Ahead of the 2025 season, Arizona has the most hype surrounding its squad for nearly a decade. The defense has had $100+ million investments into it with Pro Bowlers like Josh Sweat and Calais Campbell. The defense is stacked and Baker believes the longest-tenured Cardinals quarterback in team history, Murray, has been putting in the work to take his game and the team to the next level.
“He’s kind of been in his bag this whole offseason, doing no-look throws and having a great offseason training camp. K1, he’s going to run a little bit more,” said Baker. “A little outside the pocket, inside the pocket throws. He’s going to kind of do it all, and he’s going to get all his guys the rock.”
Budda and Murray have been teammates since the former Heisman winner was drafted back in 2019. The duo have only made the playoffs once in their time together in 2021 and is still without a playoff win. Murray’s injury history has been immense setbacks throughout his career, notably his ACL tear in 2022.
However, the 27-year-old has been putting in the work since then to get back to his Pro-Bowl level. Despite not adding any significant offensive weapons this offseason, Arizona’s offense has the talent to continue being a top five rushing attack in the NFL with Murray under center. Baker has seen his franchise quarterback put in the work to take this roster to the postseason and possibly even further.
