GLENDALE – The Arizona Cardinals held an introductory press conference for its second round pick cornerback Will Johnson. The franchise took Johnson 47th overall and was a home run selection, as the 22-year-old was widely considered a top-1o pick. However, reports of Johnson’s medical being flagged at the NFL Combine brought concerns surrounding the former Michigan Wolverine about his knee.

However, during Thursday’s press conference, Johnson gave a quick but definitive answer surrounding the worry about his knee.

Cardinals Johnson addressing the knee concerns:

Johnson appears to be tired of answering the questions about the integrity of his knee, ready to get out on the field to silence the doubters. The All-American continued during the press conference raving about new head coach Jonathan Gannon’s energy calling him a “player’s coach.”

The addition of Johnson is just one of the many pieces the Cardinals added this offseason to the defensive side of the ball. The signings of Pro Bowlers like Josh Sweat and Calais Campbell are just some of the major moves general manager Monti Ossenfort made to elevate the team’s defense for next season.

This year’s draft class for the Cardinals could be monumental, with Johnson healthy and ready to lead the new era of Arizona’s defense in the Red Sea.
