Arizona Cardinals coach Jonathan Gannon told reporters Monday that star tight end Trey McBride is in concussion protocol.
After a collision with Detroit Lions defensive back Brian Branch in the fourth quarter Sunday’s 20-13 Week 3 loss, McBride and Branch were both evaluated for concussions and did not return.

McBride ended the game with three catches for 25 yards. For the year, he is first on the team with 14 receptions and second with 122 receiving yards.
If McBride is unable to go for Sunday’s Week 4 contest against the Washington Commanders, Elijah Higgins and third-round rookie Tip Reiman could see more playing time.
Arizona will release its first injury report of the week on Wednesday. Defensive lineman Justin Jones (triceps), offensive tackle Jackson Barton (toe) and defensive tackle Khyiris Tonga (knee) were also injured against the Lions.
