GLENDALE – The injuries to the Arizona Cardinals defense continues, as head coach Jonathan Gannon announced that defensive lineman Darius Robinson will be out for Sunday’s Week 5 game vs. the Tennessee Titans. Robinson was coming off an encouraging performance last Thursday vs. the Seattle Seahawks, where the second-year defensive lineman recorded his first sack of the year.
The 24-year-old has had a rough start to his sophomore season but looked to be turning it around. However, Robinson suffered a chest injury during last week’s matchup that has kept him off the practice field for the past week, leading to him missing Week 5.
Arizona has struggled mightily with its health to start its 2025 campaign. Injuries to rookies like Walter Nolen and Will Johnson has put a damper on the Cardinals young, talented defensive squad. Robinson was looking to benefit from the increase reps and live up to his potential. Those dreams will have to wait at the minimum another week for Robinson.
The team did get back defensive lineman Bilal Nichols off the PUP list. He only appeared in six games last year, but Nichols brings some veteran leadership to a inexperienced defensive unit. The return of the seven-year pro will help maintain Arizona’s sensational pass rush, that has generated one of the best pressure rates in the NFL.
