Cardinals’ draft pick hangs up cleats after 12 seasons

Bethel played for five teams during his time in the league. Half of his career was spent as a Cardinal.

The corner back was drafted in the sixth round of the 2012 NFL Draft by Arizona, serving as a key member in the Cardinals’ special teams unit in his earliest years. He was selected to three Pro Bowls from 2013-2015 and sat in the special team All-Pro slots in 2013 and 2015.

Bethel began to see more of a presence in the defensive unit in 2015, starting and losing the corner back job periodically over the next three years. In his six seasons with the Cardinals, he recorded 185 total tackles, four tackles for loss, forced four fumbles and recovered five. He snatched down four interceptions from 2015-2017, returning a pick six in all three seasons.

Following his time with the Cardinals, Bethel started his run as an NFL journeyman, spending stints with the Atlanta Falcons, Baltimore Ravens, New England Patriots and Miami Dolphins from 2018-2023. He did not play in the 2024 season.

Bethel finished his career with 282 total tackles, six tackles for loss, five interceptions, five forced fumbles and eight fumble recoveries.
