Cardinals G Chase Bisontis Facing Lengthy Absence?

Preseason injuries along the offensive line have been a trend in recent years for the Cardinals, and it continued last night. Rookie guard Chase Bisontis suffered a knee injury during the third quarter of Arizona’s game against the Raiders.

Bisontis needed assistance leaving the field upon being injured. He was ultimately carted off to the locker room and did not return. Head coach Mike LaFleur described (via team reporter Darren Urban) the situation as “not good.”

Further testing is forthcoming to determine the extent of Bisontis’ injury. Details on that front will of course be key, but LaFleur’s overall comments suggested (h/t Mike Garafolo of NFL Network) a long-term absence is in store. Missing Bisontis for any regular-season stretch would deal a blow to Arizona’s offensive line. The No. 34 pick was among April’s draftees who inked a fully guaranteed rookie contract.

Through spring practices and training camp, Bisontis had been competing for the starting right guard spot with Isaiah Adams. Entering camp, Adams – who has totaled 16 starts across his first two Arizona seasons – was in the lead. He may now win the RG gig by default depending on how long Bisontis is out.

Over each of the past three years, Jon Gaines, Christian Jones and Hayden Conner have suffered preseason injuries as rookies. Those previous O-line ailments were felt into the fall, and Arizona will be hoping for better luck on the health front in 2026. It certainly appears as though a significant period on the sidelines is in store for Bisontis, however. Depending on his prognosis, Arizona may spend the coming weeks seeking out a depth addition at the guard spot.
